DIY Oven Re-Seasoning for Peak Performance: Though pre-seasoned with soybean oil, we strongly recommend re-seasoning at home for superior release. When stickiness appears or seasoning wears off, clean and dry the iron, rub on oil as above, then bake it upside down in a 400–500°F oven for 1 hour (with a tray beneath). Let it cool inside the oven before handling. Repeat to build an even more durable, non-stick finish.

Easy-Clean Cast-Iron Care: Wash by hand using warm water and a little soap. For stubborn batter, simmer water in the iron before using a pan scraper (after it cools). Dry thoroughly with a paper towel or lint-free cloth—black residue from seasoning is normal and not a problem. Finally, apply a very thin layer of high-smoke-point oil to both the interior and exterior, then wipe off any excess to prevent stickiness (using too much oil can create a sticky surface).
